Independence Day Speech for High School Students in English

Respected Teachers, Friends, and all my fellow Indians,

Today is our Independence day. it is the day we got freed from the British empire. Before that, the British dictated our country for almost 200 years. India was a wealthy and prosperous country with a lot of resources. After the invading of the British, India started to collapse. Poverty and slavery demolished our country. British executed and massacred everyone stood against them. We were not even authorized to use our water bodies, we were not allowed to make or sell goods without their consent, and they charged us to use our own resources. In the name of Divide and rule, Britishers divided whole India in the name of caste, creed, and color. The Kings and Rulers supported them and the common people suffered. But in the leadership of our respected Mahatma Gandhi and all other prestigious freedom fighters, India fought back. Through nonviolence, we fought for independence. Many revolts and civil wars were executed, many revolutions were caused. And after numerous years of struggle, the British withdrew from our nation on 15 august 1947.

“Freedom is never dear at any price. It is the breath of life. What would a man not pay for living?”

Yes, these are the lines of Mahatma Gandhi.

We all should commemorate this day every year to remember the sacrifices of our freedom fighters. we should not disregard the significance of this independence day after today. We have to say thank you for the freedom that we have now. Thank you for receiving my speech. Jai Hind

Independence Day Speech for College Students in English

Yet another Independence day! We are all ready to hoist the flag, paint everything in saffron, green and white. Shop keepers and filling up their stocks with different sizes of flags, badges, and whatnot. They see this is as a business sale day and we see this as a Netflix day!
Recently Elon Musk said, “If you go back a few hundred years, what we take for granted today would seem like magic!”
You guys ever thought of having no right to talk, travel, educate, or even use your own resources for survival? There was a time like that. Now we all take freedom for granted. We do not think about the life our ancestors had just 70 years ago. We take everything for granted! And if something is not happening to someone’s will today, they broke out on social media and blames the government and judicial systems.
The freedom we have today is because of the sacrifices made by a lot of people. We should never forget that we should not take anything for granted. Love and Respect everyone and our country, Respect the rules and fundamental duties of ourselves.
So guys, if you cannot be a patriot for 365 days, do it for at least one day. Don’t forget the path we came, western pop culture is chill but at the end of the day, we are Indians yaar! Jai Hind
